Bangladesh Press Club France announces new committee

PARIS, France – The Bangladesh Press Club France has formed a new 11-member executive committee to represent Bangladeshi journalists working in France and strengthen professional cooperation within the community.

The new committee was announced on Thursday at a general meeting and formal launch event held at a restaurant in Paris. DBC News and Channel S UK’s France correspondent Iqbal Mohammad Jafar announced the committee members during the event.

Shah Suhel Ahmad, France correspondent for Rupali Bangladesh and editor of Bangla Telegram, has been appointed president. Ashik Ahmed Ullash, France correspondent for Daily Amader Shomoy, will serve as general secretary.

New leadership team

The committee will serve for two years, following a unanimous decision at the meeting.

• Sahad Uddin – Executive Member

The committee brings together journalists representing several Bangladeshi and UK-based media outlets operating in France.

Focus on journalism and community issues

The newly elected leaders said the Bangladesh Press Club France will work to strengthen the professional status, unity and mutual cooperation of Bangladeshi journalists in France.

They also pledged to promote objective journalism and professional development among Bangladeshi media workers.

According to the new leadership, the organisation will also focus on highlighting Bangladesh’s positive image in France while giving greater attention to the challenges, achievements and experiences of the Bangladeshi diaspora.

The committee said it aims to create a stronger platform where journalists can cooperate professionally and contribute to more effective coverage of issues affecting Bangladeshi communities in France.

The formation of the new committee marks a new chapter for Bangladeshi media professionals in France, with the organisation expected to play a greater role in promoting professional standards and strengthening connections among journalists.
