China has officially begun construction on the Medog Hydropower Station on the Yarlung Zangbo River in Tibet, a colossal project that will become the world’s largest dam, generating three times the power of the Three Gorges Dam. For Bangladesh, where this river flows as the mighty Jamuna, the stakes could not be higher.
